It was the spring of 2010. Steve Jobs had come to terms with his illness and fate. Instead of succumbing to it, he embraced it. He assembled the greatest scientific minds of our time into a group he affectionately called, The Super Seven.
The task The Super Seven undertook was ambitious and ambiguous. Something attempted by many great men including Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison and even Harry Houdini, but with little results.
After several months they finally create The Last App, which attempts to answer the questions that have haunted mankind since he wondered where his place was in the universe.
By fate or chance the mysteries of the human existence are bestowed on one peculiar man who reluctantly visits a remote warehouse in Palo Alto, California. There, not only does he discover the fragile balance between life and death, but also why mankind’s unquenchable need to understand his origins sometimes leaves him with more questions than answers.
EXCERPT
Steve Jobs nodded and the lights dimmed. Everyone was a little scared at first because they didn't know what to expect. As the lights dimmed the thick glass in the sky bridge darkened. The floor beneath the super seven was actually insulated with six inches of rubber. In fact, everything in the warehouse that needed to be insulated was. Jobs looked over at them and said, “It's Showtime.”

It is NOT often that an author researches the history SO well.. that you start to question if he's writing a real series of events.. or using his imagination! The Tesla portion of the novel was outstanding! I love how he then weaved in the story of Steve Jobs dying and wanting to be able to give the world.. one last AMAZING App for his last iPhone! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5.. I had to correct quite a few spelling errors. It was clear that the book was proofed for spelling errors.. just not CONTENT spelling errors. Towards the end.. there were quite a few. I did my best to make note of them on my kindle for review by someone at Amazon.
Otherwise.. an excellent read for lovers of science and science fiction!

The Last App eBook Michael L Eads Reviews
Good book
This book was lousy. I guess, in this case, you get what you pay for.
First of all, the author apparently doesn't understand the concept of a paragraph. He changed thoughts in the middle of paragraphs, but continued with the same thought between paragraphs. And he needs to grammar-check his work.
Second, half the book was a non-fictional account of the work of Nikola Tesla, with shorter excerpt from the life of Thomas Edison, Harry Houdini, and other real-life historical figures, none of which had anything but the most remote connection to story.
Third, once you actually get to the real story, you keep getting side-tracked with more history lessons, plus a completely unbelievable and pointless love-at-first-site story between the 50-something narrator and a 20-something knockout.
Fourth, the story itself, after you pick through all the garbage to pull it out, is disappointing. You never really get the answers to the questions that were being posed throughout the book.
The only thing I can say positive about this book is that it was free. But gthen again, if I put any value at all on the hours of my life I WASTED reading this garbage, it wasn't free at all.
Steve Jobs is dying and is obsessed with the desire to communicate from the other side. Seems simply enough, write the app support it with the correct infrastructure get an outcome. Unfortunately just like Steve you may not get what you wanted!
Interesting nicely researched story. With the hint of a real larger than life eccentric this story springboards comfortably into the twilight zone. At times the story is a little slow but it does pick it's self up and moves along. You don't have to be of the cult of Apple to enjoy the story but a bit of tech helps.
I thoroughly enjoyed parts of this book, including the historical "backstory" of inventor, physicist, and engineer Nikola Tesla and his indispensable contributions to modern technology early in the 20th century. I also like the story of The Last App which is set shortly before Steve Jobs dies. The intersection between science and the metaphysical was very cool. The only thing that could have been better was the transitions between the time periods so that they flowed more seamlessly as an entire coherent story. As it was, it was still very entertaining AND informative.
This was simply great. It held my scatterbrain for quite some time and was a really interesting plot. I enjoyed it a lot
Short and bittersweet, but mostly sweet. It started out looking like "midlife crisis guy writes a short story," but it turned out to have more depth in the relatively spare prose.
Thanks
